Central Florida College • Patient care technician Diploma The patient care technician is trained for entry-level employment opportunities in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and other medical facilities in need of skilled patient care personnel. This program enhances and expands the role of the nursing assistant by offering a broad foundation of knowledge and skills, including performing EKGs and phlebotomy.
Maric College • Patient care assistant technician As a patient care assistant/technician, you can assist with the care of outpatients and inpatients suffering from a variety of diseases, injuries, and neurological and orthopedic problems. You may be called upon to walk patients to and from therapy with a gait belt, set up equipment for patient treatments, assist with community outings, and a variety of other duties. The required coursework in this program is approved for Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aid exams monitored by the State of California.
• Therapeutic Health Technician Diploma Therapeutic health technicians may work directly under a medical therapeutic professional, such as a physical or occupational therapist, a chiropractor or physical therapy assistant. Their duties are varied, and they can play a significant role in the recovery of a physical therapy patient. In this program, you'll learn extensive medical terminology and study both clinical and administrative procedures. Duties that you may perform in this field include transporting patients, assisting patients with exercises, teaching proper mobility methods, monitoring patient activities to ensure proper form and to provide encouragement.
Ultimate Medical Academy • Patient Care Technician This short term program trains students to work closely with doctors in a hospital setting. Students learn advanced procedures like phlebotomy and EKG along with day-to-day responsibilities such as monitoring patients’ conditions and updating medical charts. Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are in high demand and the program includes real-world experience at an area health care facility. Students graduate ready to begin a medical career in pre or post-operative care, pediatrics or even the Emergency Room.
Angley College • Patient Care Technician Diploma Program This program of study combines nurse assisting skills training with phlebotomy, electrocardiography and home health aid skills to expand the role of the nurse assistant.

Medix School • Patient Care Technician Diploma The procedures and lab techniques include but are not limited to the Study and Practices of Human Needs and Communications, Infection Control and Safety Measures, Body Mechanics, Vital Signs, Patient Care, Special Care, and Body Systems. The Patient Care Technician Program will place an emphasis on the application of knowledge and Physical Care/Psychosocial skills in a classroom and clinical setting. Included in this program is an externship which provides the student the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a health care setting. Upon satisfactory completion of training, students will be qualified to assume entry level positions in Hospital Chronic Care settings and Home Health Aide agencies. Students will sit for the Georgia Department of Human Resources State Certification Nursing Assistant Examination and are eligible to sit for the Patient Care Technician National Examination sponsored by the National Certification for Competency Testing.
Everest College • Patient Care Technician The Patient Care Technician program will provide you with training to perform clinical tasks such as collecting blood, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), completing catheterizations, recording vital signs and patient treatments. You will receive instruction in anatomy and physiology, understanding body functions and related illnesses. You will also have a thorough understanding of medical terminology to aid in the collection and documentation of patient data. Upon completion of this program, you will be certified in Community CPR and First Aid. |
